Dear Westport Presbies, family and friends,
We are sending strengthening and healing thoughts to you and yours in all that you are seeking, working for, recovering from, planning in your life at this time. May you be led beside still inner waters, and may you at times become still and “know that I am God”.
We had a beautiful message from Josh Stark on Sunday–“#BeThe1To Love,Encourage, and Endure”. This was a message aimed at conveying the experience of people with depressive and suicidal thoughts and how to cope with them, survive, and transcend…and how others may give support. See attached photo of Josh giving the message with his wonderful dog Krull at his feet.
Tonight(Tuesday), we hope some will be bringing food for a pot luck dinner for the Presbyterian Urban and Immigrant Ministry Network meeting at our church. Dinner is at 5:30. Food may be brought all day.
Saturday, Dec. 1 at 12:00 noon, please come help us decorate the church for Advent and Christmas.
Also, Saturday, Dec 1 at 9-12:00 noon, come and “Write for Rights”, an Amnesty International campaign for people deprived of freedom and political rights around the world(chapel)
The holiday gift drive is beginning. Through Don Bosco Community Center, we are helping a senior citizen, a family (grandmother raising 3 children), and we will likely help one or more veterans
through the outreach office at the VA Hospital. (we will likely take money to them to buy things vets they serve need)
Needs include: blankets, toiletry items, slippers, diabetic socks, 2 $25 Wal Mart gift cards, legos, nerf toys, perfume set for a girl, hoodie for a girl, hats/gloves for 2 boys and a girl. SIGN UP LIST WILL BE OUT ON SUNDAY AT CHURCH.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, Dec 9, 10:50 am. We want to come out and support and be inspired by our choir in their presentation of THE MAGNIFICAT. Guest instrumentalists will be with us! They’ve been working hard on this for many weeks!
First Sunday of Advent is this Sunday, December 2nd! A holy time to begin holy deeds for God in our community and world.

We will put another newsletter out next week to keep you up to date on mid-December news, rather than crowd this one with too many things.
Keep Libby Asher and Belva Berlekamp in your prayers. And keep your faith alive!….Rev Scott
